Example of a Twitter moment

Twitter moments are an excellent way to pull together many tweets of your choice to one place to tell a story. Often the posts that are together in a moment are surrounding the same topic with each post giving off additional information.

Twitter moments can also be given a header picture as shown in the provided picture. This allows for viewers to get an initial idea on what topic the moment — in this case, Leeds United player Raphinha.

-

Creating a new Moment.

In order to create a Twitter moment, you must be using the web version of twitter on a computer device.

-

-

  1. Firstly, go to the 3 dots (More) on the selection bar on the left of your screen, from here you will see a screen as shown in the screen shot above.

2. From here, you want to press the highlighted icon in the screen grab (Lightning with a +)

-

Beginning your new Moment.

3. Now you will be directed to the screen as show in the image. from here you can add headers (Set cover), browse posts from others, tweets you’ve liked, or you can even post the link to the tweet you want to add to the Moment.

As you can see — you can save your progress and continue to edit the moment at another time by hitting the “Finish later” key (Upper-right)

-

Adding a tweet to your Moment

4. Once you have found your desired tweet, you can add it by pressing the tick logo as marked in this screen grab. Once you have pressed this, the post will be added to your Moment automatically.

-

5. Once you have all your desired tweets added to the moments — you may want to change the order or remove your added tweets. In order to re arrange them, you can press the arrow keys to move them up/down in order (as shown in blue in screen grab)

If you would like to remove a tweet from your Moment, you can use this X/cross key (as shown in red)

-

Setting a cover

6. In order to create a cover image, click the “Set cover” icon (as highlighted in red), from here you will be brought onto this foreground scree, from here you can select the + (as highlighted in blue) this will take you to your computer documents where you can choose your desired picture.

Finally, hit “Set as cover” (upper right)

-

Setting a title

7. At the top of the Moment page, you can set a title and description (my title being “Creating a moment” with the description of “Rohan Street”)

It is good to make this relevant to your Moment as it will draw in the right audience.

-

-

Publishing your moment.

-

8. Finally, when your Moment is ready to be published, you can hit the “Publish” key in the upper right (highlighted in red) and follow on by hitting the “Publish” key again (highlighted blue). From here it will automatically give you the option to post your moment as a tweet if you wish.

-

I hope this helps viewers to understand how to create your very own Moment.
